Welcome to the pristine wilderness of western Idaho. High Valley is one of the last open areas within 70 miles of Boise, ID. Here you can find any mountain adventure your heart desires from fishing, hiking, mountain biking, four wheeling... the list goes on and on. Or simply sit on the cabin’s wrap around porch and relax with your favorite book as you watch the wildlife pass by below you. Bald eagles, black bears, elk, moose, deer, and even wolves are frequent guests.

This 3200 sq foot rustic cabin sleeps up to 10. It sits on 100+ private acres, backing up to over 1000 acres of federal, state, and forest service land. The closest neighbor is more than two miles away. The closest city is 25 miles away. There are hiking and biking trails on the property in every direction. A pond with a fish house that includes supplies for fishing gear sits on the property. Bring your kayaks, canoe or rowboat to relax on the 70,000 square-foot pond, stocked with fish.

The cabin offers 360 degrees of mountain views and is powered by solar and hydro, with a generator backup. A large kitchen with lots of counter space and storage makes meal prep for large family gatherings easy. The cabin is completely off-the-grid, with solar and hydro power and a propane generator backup. The water is gravity fed off the hillside.

Depending on your provider, you may have limited cell reception, making this a great escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Internet can only be accessed through a hot spot on your phone, if you can get reception. Verizon seems to be the best. There is no satellite internet of WIFI.

Location and Access

Near: Boise, ID (70 miles to the south)


Summer: From Hwy 55 you are on county dirt for 13 miles and then last 3 are local dirt and should have 4x4 for clearance and some steep spots.  2 wheel drive can make it in summer if a pickup or something with good clearance. Smithsferry is 16 miles and Cascade is 36 miles.

Bring your mountain bike, ATV, hiking boots, kayak, SUP... Here you will find over 200 acres of private land with 1000 of acres of Federal and State land adjacent to explore. It is liking camping with a 3200 sq ft house you can return to in the evening with a hot shower and comfortable bed.

Here guests have ability to hike or bike on over 250 acres out the back door. Guests enjoy canoeing, fishing, and SUPing on the property’s pond.

The Snake River is 2.5 hr drive, offering fishing and rafting. The north fork of Payette is 20 miles, offering rafting.


Along the 16 miles from Smithsferry, there is public land with two ponds to fish. Guests can canoe in the pond on the property. Cascade is 30 miles away. It is a small community with a big lake and restaurants. Cougar Mountain Lodge is closer, just 16 miles away, but offers just one restaurant.

Payment schedule: 25% due at booking. The balance is due two weeks prior to arrival and will be charged to the credit card at that time.

$200 refundable deposit.


Cancellation Policy

100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.

50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.

You must request cancellation by contacting the owner directly.


Pets are allowed during summer months. They must stay in the basement and are not allowed in the living areas.
