Description
Surrounded by soaring cliffs, towering bluffs, and vibrantly striped sandstone rock formations, the Gallina Canyon Ranch is tucked in a private box canyon in the Chama River Canyon Wilderness. Some have called it the most stunning beautiful box canyon in all of New Mexico. It’s not difficult to see why. The 2,000 foot red stone canyon walls rise beyond the cool, green groves of rustling cottonwoods fed by a gurgling stream. Wildlife abounds in this landscape, where you can hike to your heart’s or swim in the spring-fed pond. This is an inspiring paradise for photographers, artists, writers, and those interested in the ancient Anasazi Indians of the Southwest. The ranch is home to three spectacularly unique dwellings, each with their own character. They are far removed from each other but allow access to communal attractions such as swimming holes, jungle gyms, and trampolines.
The Chama Wilderness Ranch Casita, includes a large bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, living room, bathroom, and a spacious deck with lounge chairs, barbecue, dining table, and chairs. A lighted path leads from Casita to your private sleeping deck with two full beds, pillows, chairs, small chest-of-drawers, table, telescope, and a 200-degree view of the canyon.
Enjoy the community grape arbor, swimming pond, and wisteria arbor by the pond. Here chickens, cats, cows, dogs, and horses roam freely. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times in these areas. The Casita is close to the Rio Chama, which is a great place to fish for Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout or simply lounge around and enjoy the river view.
Special offer for guests at the Chama Wilderness Ranch Casita: Be our complimentary guest in Santa Fe at our downtown east-side PIED A TERRE when you rent Chama Wilderness Ranch Casita for a week.
