Sunset Casita at Cabo Pulmo Eco Palapa

East Cape, Baja California Sur, Mexico

Accommodates: 3

Bedrooms: Studio

Bathrooms: 1

Experience unparalleled serenity at Pappagallo, where life moves at the same, unhurried Baja pace that it did 50 years ago.  Instead of a clock, the crashing waves, cool ocean breeze and glittering starry skies will mark your leisurely time on this relatively uninhabited beach. The wildlife outnumber the people at this secluded location, allowing visitors the rare opportunity to stay amongst some lively marine neighbors. Sea lions sun themselves on the shore and hermit crabs scurry through the sand, while whales breach just offshore, dolphins flip and rays jump in the blue waves.

Pappagallo (translation: “roosterfish”), named after a trophy fish that swims in these waters, is a remote, eco-friendly inn that sits alone on a dazzling beach along the Sea of Cortez, about an hour and a half north of Cabo San Lucas. The inn offers several unique dwellings in the center of Playa Las Barracas, one of two beaches within Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, known for it’s wildlife-abundant reef, the only hard coral reef in North America.

The Sunset Casita at Cabo Pulmo Eco Palapa is a baja-style studio apartment offering direct views of the striking mountains and bewitching, you guessed it, sunsets. The charming unit fits one couple or small family, with one double bed and a cot with mattress, dining table and living area with small couch and chair. You have your own kitchen and bathroom as well as elevated and covered sun deck.

Additional units on the property are available as well. The palapa grande, Pappagallo, sleeps 8 or more, the Eagle's Nest rooftop apartment sleeps up to five, and Cabanas sleep two to four guests each (see links to listings below). These alternative options provide beds and bathrooms for additional guests in nearby privacy and quiet. A unique and unforgettable locale for a wedding or family reunion, the grounds can accommodate over 20 people for dining, social enjoyment, and the vacation of a lifetime.
