Description
If true quiet is what you seek, you have found it at Mountain View Yurt. Sitting high in the San Juan Mountains, this yurt offers endless views of the 13,000+ foot peaks of La Garita mountains. The wilderness area that bears this range’s name is only 5 miles away and is the least used wilderness area in Colorado. But just out the front door there is a 1,000’ vertical foot drop-off into beautiful East Willow Canyon and Phoenix Park, with its perennial waterfalls and cliffs. This cozy and comfortable yurt is the only structure on the 27 acres of private land that is in turn surrounded by National Forest Land. In fact, it’s the only structure in sight. If you are needing a touch of civilization though, in the summer and fall, the yurt is just a 15-minute drive to the historic and eclectic town of Creede, Colorado. But you will likely find yourself mesmerized by the enormity and stillness of the landscape that surrounds you. No matter the season, this getaway will allow you to slip into enchanting solitude.
